Dr. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour has said that sate governments owing workers salary should pay up and stop presenting ‘flimsy’ excuses.
The minister disclosed this in an interview with Channels TV on the News at Ten.
Most state governments have been unable to pay workers salary for over five months.
Meanwhile the Nigeria Labour Congress is threatening to go on a nationwide strike to protest the unpaid wages of their members.
He advised that state governments should cut the amount of political appointees, and be creative about internally generated revenue. He said it will be unruly for state governments to blame the federal government for their current woes.
